The chemical structure of PMMA
The melting point of PMMA is 320 ° F, and the density range is 1.17-1.20 g/cm3. Compared with other polymers and plastics, it does not undergo reactions in aqueous solutions and has high scratch resistance. Usually, if the surface of materials constructed by PMMA is damaged, it may be due to exposure to aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons, esters, or ketone chemicals.Due to its durability, PMMA is less prone to cracking than equivalent glass. Due to its shatter resistance, it is an excellent alternative to glass when constructing windows, dome skylights, signs, and displays.
