Rigid PVC is a material that provides a good balance between stiffness, impact resistance, UV stability, and inherent UL flame performance. It is most commonly used in pipeline structures and profile applications, such as doors and windows and refrigeration. Hard PVC is often used as a substitute for metal and wood in many applications, and is very suitable for embossing and texturing on highly visible parts. PVC is also popular as flexible PVC, and adding plasticizers makes it more flexible.

It is one of the largest plastic products in the world in terms of production, affordable, and widely used. The polyvinyl chloride resin is a white or light yellow powder. Different additives can be added according to different uses, and polyvinyl chloride plastics can exhibit different physical and mechanical properties. Adding an appropriate amount of plasticizer to polyvinyl chloride resin can produce various hard, soft, and transparent products. The density of pure PVC is 1.6 g/cm3, and the density of PVC plastic parts with plasticizers and fillers added is generally 1.4-2.00 g/cm3.Hard polyvinyl chloride has good tensile, bending, compressive, and impact resistance, and can be used alone as a structural material. The flexibility, elongation at break, and cold resistance of soft polyvinyl chloride will increase, but brittleness, hardness, and tensile strength will decrease.Polyvinyl chloride has good electrical insulation properties and can be used as a low-frequency insulation material. Its chemical stability is also good. Due to the poor thermal stability of polyvinyl chloride, prolonged heating can lead to decomposition, release of HCL gas, and cause discoloration of polyvinyl chloride. Therefore, its application range is narrow, and the operating temperature is generally between -15~55 ℃.
